The Research

A core component of École des Ponts ParisTech

Three major objectives

  • To progress in scientific and technical knowledge, particularly in the different areas covered by the School in the training of its engineers, and to contribute to their spread through teaching, seminars, conferences and publications;
  • To provide training in research for students seeking a career in teaching and research or a post of responsibility in a company or public administrative department;
  • To transfer research results to the professional world through sustained involvement in research partnerships or consultancies, and also through lifelong learning initiatives.

These are assessed by the Research and Higher Education Assessment Agency (AERES)Our aim is to pursue excellence and to ensure that the teaching provided at the School is based on a strong body of research. At the same time, the research conducted at the School aims to be applicable or applied in areas of major interest in terms of skills for our students and activity for our tutelary Ministry, the Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy (MEDDE).

PhD programmes

The research labs at École des Ponts ParisTech are a training ground for many PhD students. Since 2007, École des Ponts ParisTech has transferred its prerogatives relating to the doctoral schools in which it is a stakeholder to Université Paris-Est.
